booster shots

Question
I've always assumed I had to get my cats Distemper ( 3 part alphabet soup name) shots annually.
NOw I hear maybe it only needs to be every 2-3 years, but most vet practices just say annual for convenience and profit.

Any thoughts?

OK it goes like this :)

YEARLY if they go outside and have exposure to possible other cats with the disease.

Every 3 years if indoors and the cats that sit on the porch under supervision :)


If you have an adult cat, its highly unlikely they will develop distemeper. It is not a state required vaccine. Only rabies is.
