Question
Hi, my 16 year old spayed female cat has the most vile, rancid smelling poohs and is also occasionally vomiting. She eats Hills Prescription diet GD. She was hospitilized about a year ago for a few days for kidney troubles, loss of appetite and vomiting but has been fine since. My main concern is her extremely smelly poohs. Could it be a warning sign of something worse?
Thank you in advance for your reply.

Answer
Hello!

Occasional vomiting may be to get rid of hairballs, but it can also be a sign of the recurring kidney troubles. The bad smell of the pooh may be caused by many reasons, like worms, but usually affected by the food. How is the pooh other than being smelly? Is it solid or does she have diarrhea? How is her appetite and movements at the moment?

Kind Regards
