pom puppy choking???

Question
Hi, my Pomeranian puppy is 12 weeks old… and he recently started to have some choke like problems… He eats regularly and burps during and after eating, plays regularly, goes to the bathroom (poop’s and pee’s) regularly, and sleeps regularly, so therefore everything seems to be fine with him.
I took him to the vet, and they also told me that he is fine. However, after he eats, and plays at least 2 hours will pass and he’ll take a nap… in his nap he will start choking… as if he’s out of air, it’s almost like he’s trying to throw up (regurgitate in his sleep), he will also do that hours after he eats….I usually wake him up, and give him some water, I will also do the same thing when he’s up. Now this does not happen after every meal, but it did happen quite often in the last few days. Do you think he’s having problems digesting his food???  Is this normal behavior for a puppy his age? Is this a stage he’s going through? Or is this a serious problem that I should be worried about? Please advise…
Thanks

Answer
Hello!

It may be happening just because he is eating too fast, or he may have a disease like ''congenital megaesophagus'' which means an esophageal dilation and hypomotility which may be present as a primary disorder or secondary to neuromuscular dysfunction. If the problem persists, it would be a good idea to take him to the vet again for an x-ray. Please keep me informed on how he does.
