Question
I dunno if you are the right person to ask, but since my Shih Tzu dog have
had his booster, he has had a smell come from the area.  Could it be a
reaction, Would I need to take him to the vets?  I dont want to waste peoples
time, the dog is eating dine, going to toilet fine, but is abit to loving, he
normally likes ti be left alone, but today (17th May), he's been cuddling into
me and giving me kisses.

Answer
First of all you are giving me no time frame in which to base this, nor an area where this smell is coming from. Most of the time any smell coming from a dog will be coming from the mouth because of their teeth being bad or needing cleaning, or their anal glands, which are located next to the rectum on either side.
When a dog is nervous they tend to relax their anal glands and get some on themselves and the smell is really horrible.
You could give your dog a bath and see if the smell goes away but he might need his anal glands expressed. That is very common in small dogs also.
Maybe the vet did express them and got some of it on the dog. You would certainly smell it, believe me!
