QuestionI have a 7 year old pug named Buddy, for the past month he has had very loose stools, almost a mustard color with a jelly like substance with it. His anus is swollen and he smells really bad. I tried to express his anal glands but when I did, I noticed blood on the cloth and nothing else came out so I stopped. I have to wash his butt daily (very gently) and when I do, there is always a little blood on the cloth. Sometimes the odor smells like garbage but is is almost unbearable to be around him. My other pug who is a rescue from a puppy mill has always had leaky glands and I would know that smell anywhere. This is not the odor coming from my Buddy. What could he have? Like most people, my money situation is very limited.

You should have your dog evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. I realize that you wrote that you do not have the money for a vet visit, but in this case you need to make this a priority. Unfortunately, I cannot diagnose what is going with on with your pet because I have not had the chance to exam your dog. It seems as though your dog has an anal sac infection. Your should have it checked by a veterinarian as soon as possible.
