black spots

My cat has tiny black spots on her nose.  Is this something to be concerned about, or just freckles? Thanks- erin

Hi Erin,
  Is she an orange cat? If so that is normal for them to have black pigment spots on the nose, lips and gums. If she is not an orange cat then it is possible it is just a freckle, but I would watch the spot, mark this date on your calender when you first saw the mark. Watch it for color change and growth. If it changes within the next weeks or months or if she seems bothered by it, I would take her into the vet. for a check-up. Take care and have a good weekend.
