Question
My cat has worms!! I seen them around her buttocks area then round my dogs!! They sleep in same area!! Can I use over the counter meds for this?? The reason why I ask is bc I have no money to take her to vet and first cat I ever had!!

Answer
Shannon,
Your cat and dogs have tapeworms from fleas. They get them from eating fleas or mice.
You cannot treat these with over the counter medicines. You have to get it from a vet. I am sorry but that is just the way it is.
You do need to get them treated and treat the flea problem also.

You go here to learn about the flea cycle and how to break it:

I recommend Ovitrol sprays for the house and Sentinel for your cat and dogs. They should all be on heartworm prevention anyway, so just switch them to Sentinel. I have used it for over 10 yrs and my pets are all flea free and I have 3 acres of land and wildlife walking through here daily. Wildlife carries fleas all the time.

So that is what you need- head to your vets and get some Drontal or whatever they use for tapeworms and some flea products too.
Don't waste your money on Sergents or Hartz flea stuff because it doesn't work and you can harm your cat with it.
Just get it at the vets and you will get the right stuff.
