Male Hamster with swollen penis area

Question
Two days ago I mated my hamsters.  They did well together.  However, the male seems to have what I would call an abscess of or in his penis.  It appears like it maybe got irritated or raw while mating.  It is not the scrotum area.  What can I do for him to keep him from getting worse and somehow get him better?

First, be sure you have a veterinarian who is good with hamsters. AND find a really good local hamster person - maybe the one who you got them from.

If he is eating well and very active, you could try a warm compress (a cloth soaked in warm water with 10 drops each of Rescue Remedy and Calendula tincture or lotion) for a few minutes several times a day. If that is not helpinig is 3-4 days, or he gets less active or is eating less - take him to a professional to see what the problem is.
