Question
We have a golden, Jake, who is 5 years old. In the past few weeks, he looks as if he has lost quite a bit of weight. They no longer make the food we were giving him (and our other 2 dogs) and it has been hard finding one they like. But, I think he has also gotten sick from something. My husband thinks possibly snake bite. He has been laying around, and up until yesterday was throwing up every little bite he did eat. He has been drinking, but is laying around ALL the time, and he is panting. Now, it is a little warmer here (80s), but he has lots of shade. My husband also bought him a small kiddie pool today. He was moving around a little more today, and even wagged his tail a few times. If he isn't better tomorrow, we are calling the vet. BUT do you have any possible scenarios for us? THANK SO MUCH!!!

Unfortunately, I cannot tell you why your dog is listless and is losing weight.  Do not wait to take him to the vet - he should be examined as soon as possible.  Do not wait any longer as your dog's condition can only progress to the point where it is difficult for him to recover.
