bumps on a weimariner

Question
Hey there,

This week when scratching our 5 yr. old Weimariner we noticed that he had a bump on his chest. It appears to be under the skin, and doesn't move around. He doesn't seem bothered by it and his behavior has not changed at all. He has been on the same food for about 3yrs. now so I do not think it could be that but I am no expert. I know from researching that this breed of dog is prone to "fatty" bumps under the skin but this feels more like a knot. His shots are up to date so far. We are coming up to needing to get some done but not for a while. Any suggestion of what our next step should be?

Answer
If it is small you could wait and see what happens with it but all lumps, bumps and tumors should always be evaluated by a vet.

Some bumps can go from harmless to cancerous and invasive pretty fast.
So you really need to get him into the vets. They can do a needle aspirate on it and see if it's a fatty tumor or something else.

That's your next step.:-)
