Castration of a poodle

Question
Sorry for my english,

I have a seven year old poodle.

it had problems to have a piss due to some stones, the veterinarian says tha the only
solution was an operation in order to extract these stones.
  The operation was succefully complete.
But my dog was castrated in the operation.

What are going to be the effects of the castration in my dog behaviour?

Need i to restrict its food ration?

Thanks in advance

Answer
Castration will not affect his behavior at all.  It does reduce aggression and roaming and also has a protective effect on the prostate--after castration they do not get prostate enlargement, prostate cancer or usually prostate infections....so it is a very good thing to have him castrated.

It is a good idea once an adult to cut back food portions as his growth has stopped and the extra calories will put on weight.
