Coatimundi Urine

I had a tenant who had a South American raccoon, coatimundi, that urinated all over the carpeting in a bedroom. There is a terrible odor and after pulling up the carpeting to replace the foam padding, I noticed the bottom of the carpet has stains all over it. I know that cat urine odor is a lot more difficult, if not impossible to get rid of, than dog urine - I wasn't sure if you knew which type of urine coatimundi urine is more similiar to. Also, do you have any suggestions for cleaning products to eliminate the smell - it's absolutely terrible.

Hi Mercedes!  Smelly situation you've got here!  Coatimundi urine would be more similar to cat urine.  Try using Nature's Miracle pet odor remover, as this seems to work best.  You may, unfortunately, need to replace the carpeting as well.
