Curious about dog behavior

Question
I'm just curious about something I've noticed about my dog.  He's a stray I picked up off the street about a year ago, and has been a wonderful companion for me.  This dog's a riot, and has personality that most people I know could only wish they had!  My question is, why is it after I bathe him, he goes nuts running laps around the house and rolling on his back?  I've noticed it with this dog only (he's small, looks like a mix between beagle/hound).  When I was young my family had 3 dogs, all of which were pure breeds and large sized.  None of these dogs acted this way.  Thank you for your time :-)

Answer
Hi Jim!  This is refered to as the "get the clean off me shuffle" lol.  I have a shih tzu that does the same exact thing.  My sister's little bichon does it as well!  My parent's have a lab and he doesn't do it.  Perhaps it's a "small dog" thing!  It seems like the want to get the clean off of them!  In reality, though, I think it's a attempt to dry themselves.  Either way...isn't it so cute?
Every dog has some kind of silly antic they display!
Give that guy some kisses for me, and kudos to you for taking him in!  He's so lucky to have such a wonderful owner!
Take care!
