Question
Hi TJ, about 9months ago I set up a small nano 20g tank and I was away most of the time while it was cycling. For the 2months or so someone else was looking after it for me.When I came back most of the rocks where covered in aiptasia, I tried different methods like peppermint shrimps, joes juice etc. I could not get rid of them so as I was not too deep in I decided to start again with a larger 55gal tank. I didnt use any of the rock for my new tank and have it sitting in a bucket. I was wondering could I reuse this for a new tank again ( aiptasia must be gone by now ) and if i did do i need to re seed it with live sand or rock.

Answer
Hey Aidan

If the old rock has been submerged in saltwater it is still cured and you can for sure use it in your new tank. be careful though, if there is even one cell of aiptasia on the rock it can quickly spawn into a new parent aiptasia and come back
