Skimmer keeps filling with water

Question
Why would my skimmer keep filling up with water instead of just foam.  I have a sedra ksp 3500 pump and an inline submersed skimmer.  Should I reduce the air on the air intake tube?  I lowered the overflow tube to it's lowest position and still white foam, and no dark colored foam to speak of.  And it keeps filling with water then overfilling back into the foam.  Is that what it's supposed to do?  Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hello Joe,

What skimmer is it?  Do you have a model or brand, or can you describe it better?

It sounds like you arent getting any 'air' into the pump to be blended.

Can you check to see if there is an 'air tube' from the pump inlet to above the water surface...

Make sure that tube is clear.  They might build up with salt creep, and when that happens, I either submerge the tube intoo the water to suck up water and dissalove the salt, or I will use fresh water, n a glass and jsut suck the glass frul of water...

Sometimes that tube will have an 'adjustment' on the end to try to control the air. if that is the case, I would start off with that valve all the way open... then adjusting down 1/2 aturn at a time...

Please check those items out and let me know where aer then we can work on adjusting after this confirmation...
