QuestionWe have previously had a salt water tank that was already set up. I am wondering how much salt goes into a 29 gallon salt water tank. I don't want to kill the fish.
Thank you.
AnswerHello Megan,
Each salt supplier has different 'ratios'/forumulas
You would have to contact them, or let me know and i will contact them..
BUT, I dont usually go by what they tell me anyways...
It is suggested to use a hydrometer or REFRACTOMETER. These measure the 'salinity' of the water...
For a fish only tank, the salinity can be aout 1.021 - 1.026
Reef / coral tanks would need the higher salinity, 1.025-1.026
Hydromters are 'ok' but are unreliable, and can be off... Refractometers are more expensive but are generally more accurate...
I hope this helps, and please keep me posted on your progress...
