hi Karen!
I got a  a goldfish that is growing a little lump on on his back...........

uh....what a bunch of Followups... i cut'em down a little.....

HI KAREN!
no bother at all, you are welcome!

I googled  fish nodular disease (never do the search without "fish", it gets a little scary), and i think you are right! but guess what? there's an update:
The yellow bump on my fish now got flat, i gave him some treatment food as you said and it started to smoother maybe three days after your reply, i still see a pale spot where the bump was (similar color) but i like to think he is getting better, i really don't know.
As for your questions.....
My goldfish lives whit other two of the same kind in a 20 gallon bowfront tank, he's about two inches long (only his body, he's got a very large tail), and i think might be 1 year old, we got it 8 months ago when it was very small and it's been growing like crazy so i think  he's a youngster. we have no other kind of fish in that tank anymore because of the hell that is to pay every time we try, and we've tried many times (these fishes just go crazy).
I hope this helps and i also want to thank you for keeping my question in mind.

Have a nice day.

Answer
Hi Steevie! It's good to hear from you again! I am SOOOOOOOO glad your goldfish's lump has gone flat now!!! You don't know how great that is to hear! I was really worried your fish had a tumor but that's not a possibility now! The reason I asked if he lived with any other fish was because I worried maybe you had a pleco in with him or some other sometimes nippy fish but what you have now is just fine..As long as everybody is getting along. Yeah, it's best not to keep goldfish with anything other than goldfish, except maybe a snail or two as you have already found out! ;-)

~*Well I am so glad to have been able to help you sucessfully treat your goldfish's strange disease....Actually I must thank the person whom suggested I search for fish nodular disease, for I had no idea what this disease was and have never heard of it even until I did the research.....Thanks to the expert whom directed me, actually she is a member of "Monsterfishkeepers.com" a really cool website actually!

Once again I'm so glad I was of some help! And you are welcome to ask me anymore questions you may have about freshwater fish keeping! I am more than happy to answer them!

Wishing you and your goldfish the best with everything! I hope your once sick goldie lives a wonderful fulfilling life and has many, many happy years ahead of him! ;-)

Take care and Happy fishkeeping Steevie!
Karen~
(Ps: Yes, it can be quite frightening to search for "nodular disease" without "fish"!)
