hi

i have a blue green algea problem that keeps coming back.  I have used EM tablets to solve it in the past.  but it always springs back.  this last time i noticed it within 48 hrs of cleaning.  i was wondering if u know of anythin that mayt once and for all cure this problem.  i do not over feed.  the light is on for only 12hrs.. its on a security timer.  teh tank has been set up for over 3yrs.  any info would b great. thanks

It's pretty weird stuff isn't it? A bacteria that looks and grows like algae. Yuck! Below is a link to a page by a guy that had success using Nifurpirinol to kill it. He grows algae in his tanks on purpose and tests them. Nifurpirinol is the main ingredient in a product by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals called "Furan 2". Most fish stores should have it ;
