brown algae in fish tank

I have had my tank set up about 3 weeks and am getting brown on the stones and rocks why? and how do i get rid of it?

Hey Wendy,
you are probably leaving your light on in your tank too much. When I started my tank, I had that problem as well. Also, it could be from the rocks in your tank. If they had algae on them before you got them, they can re grow the algae.
They have all sorts of algae stuff on the marketing that helps get rid of algae. Make sure if you use the meds to get rid of it you take the carbon out of your filter, other wise it won't work.
