Question
Hi there,

I have a 160 litre, 4 foot long tropical tank currently with 6 platies, ive noticed though, that one of my female platies is pure evil!, She rams or nudges any fish that tends to go near her, male or female, but as of yet has not bothered with the Cory Bronze,

i dont know what to do?

Also, i have 2 males who seem to swim at the bottom most of the time, the water tests all came back fine, there are no obvious signs of disease, and ther other 3 fish are fine.

4 fish and the cory bronze swim about all the time, its just the 2 males that done (while the other male does) and this aggressive behaviour from the female platy, who just so happens to be smaller then the other female platies,

what can i do?

also how long do i keep the tropical light on in my tank per day?

Answer
Hi Kenneth,
It's usually uncommon for a platy to be this aggressive towards other tankmates. Sometimes if there are too many males then there becomes a problem. At least 2 females per male is how it should be. There should always be more females than males.

Regards,
Chloe.
