Question
I have a 300L freshwater aquarium with angels, tetras, gouramis, clown loaches and shrimp. All fish are scratching and flicking and fins are getting fairly clamped. Nothing is visible on them and their appetite and activity level is good. Is there a broad spectrum med I can safely use with loaches and inverts?

Answer
Hi Debby,
Most medications are harmful to loaches because they are scaleless fish. It sounds like the beggining of ich taking place. Use some aquarium salt at half the dosage because of the loaches. Raise the temperature a few degrees. Also, syphon the substrate as best you can.

Hope this helps
Chloe.
