Question
Hi Jaymie, hope you are well. I now know, that my zebra danio lay eggs they dont't give life birth. My zebras belly is very white and round at the bottom, very much, more so than my other zebra's i've only got three zebra's in my tank. One small one and the two big ones. Could the zebra with the white belly be carrying eggs and do I put the white belly zebra and the other zebra in a holding tank. With some gravel and breeding grass. Thank you so much for all your answers. I don't know what I would of done without this website. Looking forward to your reply. Kind Regards. Vanessa

Answer
Vanessa,
If you intend on breeding, then yes, they should be placed into the breeding tank. On the bottom of that tank, add either marbles, or larger size gravel. The eggs will drop between the marbles so that the other fish cannot get to them. Once the breeding is done, you can replace both parents back into the main tank and wait for the fry to emerge from the bottom of the tank. Make sure the breeding tank has a filter, that has been cycled, and a heater.
