Question
I have three goldfish and two are females and the other one is a male. After a week of looking after them, one of the females had babies. The adult goldfish are eating them and now there are only 9 left! What can I do to keep them away from being eaten??? Many thanks!!!

Answer
Dear Shelley,
Congratulations on the new babies!
The only thing you can do is to take the remainder baby goldfish out. Depending upon their size. If they are very tiny, you can use a siphon to quickly suction them out or use a "brine shrimp" net. You could either use a "breeder" net sold at most petstores to keep the baby goldfish in it until they are larger. Or put them in a separate aquarium.

I hope I didn't get back to you to late...

Best wishes,
Karen~
