Help.

Answer
Hello,

Softening water in aquariums can be quite tricky. I believe the best, and most affordable way, is to add peat moss to your filter. You should be able to find peat additives specifically made for your aquarium filter at your local fish/pet store. Most other methods of softening water are impractical or expensive. Keep in mind, hardness does not need to be exactly on target. Usually fish raised in hard water will adapt to it to some degree.

I hope this helps.

Stephanie
