Is a Betta Fish for Me?

I want to buy a fish that I can keep in a regular fish bowl to sit on my coffee table. I will not mind spending the time to keep the bowl clean, but I don't want to have an aquarium.  Is a Betta Fish a good choice for me.

as long as you keep the water at a warm temperature, a betta is probably the best choice. Bettas live longer in filtered aquariums (according to some people) but they do fine in bowls. You should get a decently sized bowl though, at least a gallon, two would be even better.

you can also get water frogs for the bowl to make it more interesting, they live in the same habitat with bettas just fine.
