Rain Water

Question
Probably a stupid question but here goes?
Is rain water good for fresh water aquariums?

I'm starting an outdoor aquarium in my yard (See Outdoor FW Aq in Miami Beach), and occasionally I have an abundance of rain water.

Thanks, Luis

Answer
Hello. This is not a stupid question at all, but no, rain water is not good for freshwater aquariums. It is too acidic and possibly has ammonia in it. Use spring water that you can buy from a grocery store. It is a lot better than using rain water. Hope this helps!
