8 Neon tetras in 10 gallon tank

Cleaned once a week with gravel vac.

I have had so many answers on this issue that I don't know if it will ever get fixed. I have 8 neon tetras as stated above and one started looking a little off to me so I looked closer. It has this big white spot right behind it's  "anal fin". It doesn't look like a fungus or ich or velvet  and believe me I have treated this little fish for about everything I could think of. It eats fine and before separating it schooled fine swims fine but the white spot will not cease. Then everyone I talked to told me it was NTD and that it would more than likely die within a few weeks it's been 6 months and the white spot is still in the same place and none of the other color is even fading the only thing is it looks extremely lonely in the hospital tank. Any ideas what this could be? And I mean it is a big white spot just where the red starts on it's tail and nowhere else and it's not fuzzy and doesn't look like salt. I had a picture but I must have deleted in and no longer have my camera.

Thank you in advance for any info at all

Sonn

Answer
Hi Sonn:  that white spot could be a wound or even a scar... its been six months and he is still alive and well... I'd put him back with his tank mates and let him be.  keep your eye on them to make sure they are all ok for a while... sounds like to me you just have an odd fish...dave
