QuestionHi, I have a 10gal tank currently one black molly in it. But I started with 5 all of them with the exception of one died, the last one to die had what I think is "pop eye". Now my last black molly seems like he is very stressed. I don't know what to do... should I get more mollys to make the one I have happy, but if there is something wrong with my tank I don't what to hurt any more.. What should I do?
AnswerHello Vic: The first thing to start with is a water test. You can take a sample of your water to the local aquarium and they will test it for you. Most places do this for free. If the water tests are fine then you can add more fish. Molly's are shoaling fish so they like to be in groups bigger then three.
Molly's are great fish... I have a pair of sail fin molly's that I enjoy a great deal. You can try to give them a treat now and then of brine shrimp. I encourage feeding brine shrimp because it is more then food. They are a great source of fiber which helps keep intestinal issues in fish at a minimum. They are very nutritious and the fish seem to love them. hope this helps... dave
