goldfish eye injury

Question
I have a black oranda goldfish that has what seems to be an injury to one of his eyes. Two days ago when I turned the light on I noticed his eye was completely clear. It's almost as if I am seeing right through it. You can still see somewhat of an outline where his pupil should be but it is clear. I can see what seems to be behind his eye there is a black area and a white circle in the bottom of the eye. His eye is still there and moving but see through. I'm sure it is a female because I have a male Lionhead that was chasing her around non stop the day of and the day before trying to spawn with her. I'm thinking she might have injured it on something while being chased but am not sure. I have a 50 gallon tank with 4 goldfish and all the water levels are perfect. I am very knowledgeable about goldfish and usually know how to fix most problems but I just don't know what to do for her. I have taken her out and put her in the hospital tank I have and added some aquarium salt but other than that I don't know what else to do. Please help!!

Answer
Hi Amy,
Its likely she injured it. If you like, you could send a picture to nature_girl2u@hotmail.com

You have done an excellent job by moving her into a hospital tank. I would have advised the exact same thing.

Just give her some time to heal and some loving care and hopefully she'll get better.

Best wishes and I hope this helps!
Karen~
