Question
I plan to move my 29 gal aquarium down one flight.I plan to remove 50 % of the water. Qiestion-should I save water and put back in the tank? Or should I use fresh water which I would set out for a day and treated with Aquasafe?
I also would have movers carry tank on a board. Thanks, sid

Answer
Hi Sid
You'll want to drain all the water out of the tank before moving it.  Moving a tank with water in it can weaken the seams on it, and cause leaks.  Not to mention, whether it's a mover or you moving it, it's gonna be heavy without the water in it, so just make it easier and remove as much as you can.  Just go pick up a 20 or 30 gallon Rubbermaid bin/tote from the store, syphon the water into that, move your fish into the bin with water as well. Move the tank, pour the water back into the tank, then add the fish back in after all the debris settles down.  It's fine to keep most of the water, probably won't hurt to do a little water change, say about 25% of fresh water.  Good luck!
