pH issues with my 55 gal tank

Question
Hi, I just set up my 55 gal tank last Friday the fourth. We still do not have any fish in the tank and we were gonna buy some tomorrow. I tested the water with a pH test kit that you put the water into  the vile and then add the drops of the test liquid. I also tested it with the strips that you dip in the tank. The strips said that the pH was acidic, but the test that you put  the water into  the vile said that it was ideal. Which one should I trust? If the pH is really acidic could that possibly kill the fish that I'm gonna hopefully add tomorrow? should I just not worry about it and add the fish? Or do I need to do something about it?

Answer
Hi Dave,
I'd be more willing to trust the Vial Liquid test kit, they are always more accurate. I don't think I'd worry.

Just make sure not to add too many fish too soon. This would lead to disaster, just in case you aren't aware. Please read here-

Best of luck and I hope all goes well!
