Fish tank filter not pumping water

Question
I just replaced the filter in the fish tank filter pump. I turned it back on and the motor seems to be running fine but no water is being pumped so it goes through the filter (TopFin 20 filter) and back into the tank. Something is turning in there because I can see some water in filter moving. Please help...already lost one fishy.

Hi Dean,
Check all the parts of the filter. The impeller often gets clogged or the intake tubes often become clogged as well so check all that. And then sometimes that brand of power filters tends to not last very long and after you've done all the checking and cleaning you can and it still won't work, you may have to replace the entire filter. Cascade filters are very long-lasting just so you know.
