Question
what is the best fish filter for my 29 gallon tropical tank? when i bought the tank everything came in the box but i'm feeling the filter is not good or strong enough for the tank .. i have a 2 bottom feeding cat fish~ 1 guppy~ 1 micky mouse platy~ 5 mollies (and about 10 baby mollies that need to go soon!!) and 2 neon something or other... my tank water is green... i took the water to the pet store to have it tested and all the levels are normal... not too high or too low... i don't really knowwhat to do about the green water... i did a 30% water change about 10 days ago but it's back to green!

Answer
Hello.  It sounds more like an algae bloom going on.  Do some research on algae blooms. If you have the tank right next to a window, that can be causing it.  Do some research like I said on the algae blooms, as I don't think it really has to do with the filter itself.  In a 29 gallon tank, I would use a filter like the Aquaclear 50, you always want it the next size up from what the tank is...this has always worked best for me. But the algae bloom is more thinkable in this situation.

Good luck.
