Question
I have a sword tail that had 15 babies and a molly hat had 25. How long will it take for the fish to grow up to a size that they wont be eaten by other fish?

Answer
Hi Brandon,

Your Livebearer (molly, swordtail, guppy, etc.) fry will take approximately 6 months to reach a mature size. After approximately 1-2 months, they will become large enough not to be eaten or picked on by other fish. The size depends on genetics and how you care for them. Remember to feed your fry a variety of foods, both freeze-dried, flake, and/or frozen food to encourage optimal health.

Good Luck, and Happy Fishkeeping!
