algea eating fish

Question
Im looking for a fish or shrimp that eats lots of algea. Just a few weeks ago I started noticing lots of algea growing on the sides of my aquarium and on the leaves of my plants. I have common plecostomus and a tiger plecostomus, 2 coolie loaches and 1 three lined cory and they aren't eating enough algea. I was thinking of getting a bristle nosed catfish or a whip tail catfish but I don't know if they eat any algea. I need a fish that will be able to withstand tigerbarbs and albino barbs and other aggresive fish. Nothing too small that it will be eaten by a 14 inch rope fish to. Suggestions opean. Thanks alot
Nick

Answer
Hi Nick;

Try cutting back on how much food you feed to the fish. If they are getting their meals too easy they won't be inspired to eat the algae. If the algae is hard to scrape off, the plecostomus and any other algae eater won't be able to eat it off the tank either. Some algae is rock hard and they just can't get it. Coolie loaches and corys don't eat algae anyway, but they eat extra food and look cute while they're doing it. ;o)

Followups welcome.
