tropical fish basics

i would like to have a small tank with tropical fish , i am an absoulute novice at this and before i start on my quest i would like a few basics questions answereing, how much maintainace do the fish take? where would i start? can you recommend a good book to read on the subject

Fish aren't that hard to take care of. All you have to do is clean there tank out once a week and make sure that your water is good (check it every month) and feed them a pinch on food once a day.

I woul  go to www.amazon.com and look in books and in the search engine thiny type in "Tropical fish care" and a list of books will come up. And people rate the books and put comments in so that you know if it is a must buy or not.
