sick beta fish living in Serbia without medicine

Hi Chris,

My beta has a pop-eye and most of the research I've done suggests that I use one antibiotic or another.  Beta fish are sold on the street in Serbia and therefore, no pet stores sell any treatment.  Do you know of any home remedies I can try besides keeping his water warm and changing it every day?  

My little tank has been set up for a little over a month.  It's just for him - about 1/2 a gallon of water.  I have no ideas about the levels in it.

Hi Alonit;

You are doing just fine in your efforts to treat him. Even medicines don't always make a difference. Heat and water changes are the best way to handle pop-eye. Here is a link to a good article about it;
