Beta seems lethargic

Question
Hi!  I have my Beta for one year now and lately seems to be loosing its color (looks greyish) and is lethargic.  It scares me, I think he's dead at times, he'll hang at the bottom or inside his castle  and sometimes against the castle.  He doesn't seem to have any white spots. Should I give him drops for the "velvet" disease?  I don't know if this is what he has!  HELP

Hi Lisman,
 Don't treat him for velvet if he doesn't have velvet.  It sounds like he is just getting old.  Most bettas don't live all that long and a year is often a reasonable life for many of them.
