oscar fish swimming upside down

my fish is about 4 1/2 to inches and started swimming upside down, side ways and seems disoriented. Is it sick will he die? Is there anything I can do?

Your fish has probably got swimbladder problems. These are incredibly difficult to treat, and unfortunately often fatal. Feed your Oscar a few frozen peas to try and ease him. Do frequent 40 percent water changes (every 2 or 3 days) to ensure the water stats in the tank (ie nitrite, ammonia) are kept at 0.0.
Apart from this, there is little you can do.
