Shrimp and snails

Question
Hello, I will be brief.  Can ghost shrimp and snails get ich?  Are there any diseases they can get that can be passed on to fish.
My ghost shrimp looks like he has white spots on him, he is new so I don't know if that is what he has always looked like or not.  Thanks.

Hi R,
 That is an excellent question and honestly I don't know the answer.  I have never heard of ghost shrimp getting ick.  It is also very possible that they can get something similar but different than fish ick.  Most parasites are very specific about their hosts.  Please let me know if you find out differently.  Thanks.
