Question
My oscar died.. Not sure how old he was, but young i think.  He was about 6 inches.  He developed this white stuff on his side. He stopped eating.
I treated the waster with this stuff called Tank Buddies.. it covered multiple fungu's ect.
He ended up dieing.I have been offered two new oscars from a friend.. I changes out half of the water when my oscar got sick.. so the tank is not dirty. Would it be safe to put the other new fish in?  Beings the the oscar was sick and died in there. I need to take the new fish within a few days as the people who are giving them to me are moving.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Susan

Answer
Susan,                                                       I would treat my tank with coppersafe. Oscars are notorious for getting a parasite that causes hole in the head. It sounds like he had a fungus though. You should have used straight erythromycin. The tank buddies are not dependable.Anyway the coppersafe will treat your water for 30 days and no need to remove your carbon. Good luck with your new fish , Tina
