gurami (tiger)

Question
My tiger gurami fish has lost the fin on the bottom of his body.Under his belly.  He now swims upside down, but is still active.  Will he grow another fin. He is only in a tank with one other tiger gurami and they do not fight.  Thanks for the help.

Hi Sheila,
  If a bit of the fin is missing, he may regrow it. If the whole fin is missing, it is much less likely that it will regrow.

  The swimming upside down is much more serious.  When a fish is swimming upside down, that usually means major, major problems. They seldom recover from something like that.  I suspect that while you don't see them fight, they must have a had a fight at some point.
