Question
Ok two questions how will I know when my tank is done cycling.  I also plan on breeding electric blue haps is there any thing special they need and what can i do.  I know i have 7 fish in my tank now so im going to get another one to store my oscar and my mollys in and have my haps in a tank of there own.  The mollys i know will probably will get eaten if left in the tank with the Oscar.  I jumped into this to quickly with getting fish and didn't know nothing about cycling.  so splinting them up in two tanks i hope will help there health and faster cycling

Answer
Hi Steven,
Cycling takes about 6 weeks.  Splitting them up or putting them together won't change that.

To breed a fish like electric blues, you generally need one male and a group of about 4 to 6 females.

If you put mollies in with an oscar, the oscar will eat the mollies.
In fact, if you put any fish in with an oscar, the oscar will probably eat it; that is what oscars do and they are very good at it.
