Crazy Oscar

Question
Hi,for the last week my oscar goes crazy everytime I turn
the tank light on, he swims very fast and in circles and
seems to attack anything in the tank. As soon as I turn it
off he just goes back to normal straight away. He has also
stopped eating,I feed him Orca pellets and Live feeder fish.
This problem happens day or night.He is in a 4 foot tank,he
is 5 years old and about 10-12 inches long.I am in Australia
Any help would be great.Thanks

HI Lindon,
  If the tank goes from completely dark to light, that would cause many fish to "go crazy".  I never have my fish in total darkness.  I always have some light in the room.  

  This kind of erratic behavior can also be a symptom of deteriorating water conditions.  Have you been doing regular weekly partial water changes?  It is important to change 25% of the water once a week, every week.
