Question
Hi,

i just added a pair of blue rams to my 30 gal. planted tank. i also have 6 glofish (zebra danio) an ottociclus, and an albino bristle nosed pleco.

i want to add about 3 male dwarf gouramis as well ( i can not find any females)

i also am interested in possibly adding
2 angle fish
killifish
congo tetras
bosimani rainbows
dwarf rainbowa
a male betta

can you tell me how each of these would do in my tank and together? are there any that would not work at all? (i think  my tank is too small for the bosimani) i know not all of theses can fit in my tank. what would be your reccomended combo?

the killis i have seen avalable are:golden wonders, tiko green, and ijebu ode (i like this one the best)

please tell me all you can about each of these fish, i want to learn all i can about them before getting any.

thanks,
mike

Answer
Hi Mike,
Angel fish need 10 gallons of water each, so if you put angel fish in, you are limited.  Killifish, I would not recommend.  Some are timid, and some are wicked.  They can jump out of the smallest hole, and can bite other fish.  Bosemani need longer tanks.  The betta can be mixed with danios, cory catfish, neons, ottos, loaches, and plecos.  That's about it for the betta, and there is no guarantee that they will all get along.  It depends on the betta's personality, but usually this works out.
The congo tetra needs lots of room to swim, and must be kept in groups of six, so if you go with this fish, that would be your limit.  You could add 6 cory catfish because they are bottom fish.
Drawf rainbow fish must also be kept in schools of six.
This is what you could do..
2 Angel fish
6 rainbow dwarf fish
2 dwarf Gouramis...(You will need a live floating plant for the gouramis)

or
You could go with the Congo Tetra, and 3 gouramis.  You must remember that the Congo Tetra will grow to 4 inches.

The rams will not mix with a betta.

Never add all of these fish at once because it would change your water chemistry which would cause death.  Add two, wait one week, do a 25% water change, and add two more, wait one week, and so on.  Make sure you have no ammonia in your water before adding fish.
I hope this helps.
