Purple Cichlid

Question
I want to get a purple Cichlid but cannot find one! I saw a picture of one but they said it was accuatlly was a blueberry cichlid. Is there any out there and if so what are they called? Thank you

Hi Jemma,
  There are some cichlids from Lake Malawi (East Africa) that are purple in color; however, it is important to consider carefully which species of cichlid to get, not just based on its color.  East African cichlids require hard, alkaline water, whereas blueberry oscars (which are also purple) are from South America and require soft, acidic water.  You also want to be careful which fish you put these with.  For example, an oscar is pretty much guaranteed to eat any and all of its tankmates.
