electric yellow lab in community tank

Question
so i decided to move one of my small electric yellow labs (well its the smallest out of the 4 i have. about 2-3") into my heavily planted 30 gallon community tank. ive had it since it was born over a year ago and looking at it, i dont think its going to get much bigger any time soon.

what i want to know is how long can it stay in the community tank. i know cichlids are usually aggressive but this guy isnt. before i moved him he was miserable. he was constantly being picked on by my other cichlids (mainly the adults) and he was always dull looking and would hide all the time.

i just moved him into the 30 gallon tank today. he seems well settled in. he isnt hiding as much as he was in the other tank and his colours look alot more bright. he also seems to enjoy hanging out with some of the fish in the tank

Answer
Sarah,
As long as he is getting along with the other fish you should be able to leave him in that tank. Not all Cichlids are aggressive and it looks like you have a peaceful fish. Just keep an eye on him. If he is not having issues now, you might be able to leave him where he is.
