QUESTION: Hey its Jason again.I want to know know if it is safe to give my pigeons rain water to drink.The pet store recommended that i not give them tap water and ive been giving them aquapure ever since but i thought that because rain water is a purer source it might not be bad.What do you think?

ANSWER: Hi Jason,

Well, I think it depends. If you live in an area with a lot of acid rain and pollution, it would not be a good idea. How often does it rain in your area? Are you wanting to provide them with rain water all the time? The water you are using now is fine and I do provide mine with tap water. I just make sure it is clean and I have not had any problems with it. I hope this helps!

Hi Jason,

Pigeon grit is different than chicken grit and it usually contains oyster shells, granite, and calcium carbonate among other things. Here are a couple of examples:
