Question
Hi,

I bought 4 pigeons from market. one pair is adult and the wings are clipped. And other is squab and now it stared flying and finding home back. My question is, the wings of the adult pair now started growing and they are trying to fly. Is it advisable to allow the adult pigeons to fly? will they come back home? for your information the adult pigeons started laying eggs and it is with me for the past 3 months. thanks

Answer
Hi Deva,

I wouldn't allow the adults to fly until the feathers are fully grown back in. I cannot say for sure if they will come back home if they are allowed to fly free. They might or they might not. But, since you have had them for 3 months, they might be able to recognize their home and come back. It is hard to tell. They might also get lost, injured, or attacked by predators. Can you provide them with a shelter if you do decide to let them fly?

Thanks,
Stacie
