Question
how long until a baby keets eyes open?
how long till they start growing feathers?
do i have to change the shredded paper in the nest box? if so, how often?
my budgie layed two eggs on a random day(three days from the other eggs and the second egg layed three days after that) and there is only a litte dark bit on the end of the egg(inside) why is this?

Hello! A new born chick usaully opens its eyes around the 5-6 day of hatching. The chicks start growing feathers around the 18th day. Baby down will come in first then small pin feathers will start to emerge. You should change the bedding in the box every couple weeks for sanitation. Place all the chicks in a small cup, or box while you clean the nest. Then hen lays egg apart from eachother so thats normal. The dark spot inside the egg is the embryo and there will also be an air sac near the top of the egg. Thisn is a good sign because know you know the egg is fertil.
